
Biography
Eduardo has devoted his professional career to the creation of constitutional and statutory precedents, through the judiciary and the practice of appellate advocacy. Eduardo originally acquired his Law degree in Mexico, where he practiced Law for 10 years, mostly at the Federal Judiciary, and is currently admitted to practice Law in all Mexican Courts. He graduated from the LL.M. program at the University of Texas at Austin and was admitted to the Texas State Bar.
Before joining Ellwanger Law, Eduardo clerked and acted as Chief of Staff for a Justice of the Mexican Supreme Court, authoring almost two hundred opinions, including high profile cases of constitutional and statutory interpretation, criminal procedure, family law and administrative law. He also clerked for a Court of Appeals specialized in telecommunications and economic competition law and worked for several law firms in Mexico City as an external consultant for their respective appellate advocacy teams.
Eduardo has been an adjunct professor in various Mexican Law Schools, as well as a guest lecturer in courses directed to federal and state judges, organized by the Mexican Supreme Court, the Council of the Mexican Federal Judiciary, the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Among other academic activities, Eduardo has done research stays at the University Carlos III of Madrid, as well as at the Federal Judicial Center at Washington D.C.
