Biography

Fiona has dedicated her legal career to ensuring access to justice. Originally from Ghana, West-Africa, Fiona obtained her undergraduate degree from Cardinal Stritch University and her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. While in law school, Fiona participated in an externship as an Equal Rights Officer at the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development where she investigated violations of the Wisconsin Fair Employment Law, as well as other civil rights laws.

After graduating law school, Fiona worked as a Staff Attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, a public interest law firm, representing the legal best interest of minor children from low-income families in all aspects of family law cases. As a Guardian ad Litem, Fiona gained invaluable litigation, investigation and courtroom experience, and developed creative problem-solving techniques.

Fiona subsequently relocated to Austin and worked as a Civil Justice Attorney at the State Bar of Texas where she developed and managed statewide pro bono and disaster response programs. Fiona also worked on several access to justice initiatives, including developing continuing legal education programs for judges, attorneys, legal professionals, and non-profit organizations in Texas.

At Ellwanger Henderson, Fiona works to ensure access to justice for people who have experienced employment discrimination and other civil rights violations.
